What happens to consciousness after we die?

Is it end of the story or something?

Consciousness is a state of being awake or it is state of awareness of surroundings. Personally I do believe that it is a product of brain. After death, our brains shut down and eventually, consciousness ceases to exist. According to Philosopher Daniel Dennett, if we consider our brain as a smart phone then consciousness is screen.

In other words, consciousness is not how our brain works, it's only how we interface with it. So when then smart phone dies, the screen also dies. It means when our brains shut down, there's no more consciousness.

Although many scientific studies show that brain activity and DNA activities remain active for sometime after death, that does not mean your are not dead, you're dead!
