What would happen if Earth stops spinning suddenly?

It won't happen suddenly though, the fact is Earth's rotation speed is gradually slowing down, In fact Earth's rotation speed in its youth was fairly high and days lasted for 6 hours only.
Earth's actual spinning speed is 1100 miles/hour at the equator. 
If it stops spinning suddenly (no chances of survival) everything on earth will fly eastwards, there will be massive Tsunamis and destruction.
Anyways, if it stops spinning, a day would last for 365 actual earth days and one side of hemisphere will face huge heat while other side will be frozen for the same period. The condition is called Sun Synchronous.
